Ghanaians in the United Kingdom took to the streets in a peaceful demonstration to express frustration with President John Mahama’s government over unfulfilled campaign pledges.

The protesters said their action was to amplify the voices of unpaid cocoa farmers, nurses, and teacher trainees still waiting for automatic posting, communities devastated by galamsey, and citizens yet to feel the impact of the much-hyped 24-hour economy.“

Demonstrators argued that the government’s 1-3-3 formula has failed to deliver real benefits on the ground. For them, it remains more of a political slogan than a working policy.

“As citizens, we have a responsibility to speak up when promises are not met and when the needs of the people are overlooked,” one protester told reporters.

The UK-based group vowed to keep demanding accountability from the Mahama administration until ordinary Ghanaians begin to see results.

“We will continue to speak up, demand accountability, and champion the interests of ordinary Ghanaians until the leaders begin to deliver on their promises,” they declared.

The demonstration adds to growing pressure on the government to address concerns around cocoa payments, graduate unemployment, illegal mining, and the 24-hour economy rollout.
