GHALCA Top 4: Hearts of Oak complete double over Heart of Lions in three days
Hearts of Oak achieved a double victory over Heart of Lions in just three days, clinching a 1-0 win on Wednesday night at the University of Ghana Stadium during the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
This victory followed a 2-0 win for the Phobians on Sunday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, which secured them the 2025 Homowo Cup.
The only goal of the match on Wednesday was scored just before halftime, as Ransford Mensah’s free kick took a deflection into the Heart of Lions’ net.
No additional goals were scored in the second half, resulting in a final score of 1-0 in favor of Hearts of Oak.
Mas-Ud Didi Dramani opted for a significantly rotated squad for this match, omitting captain Benjamin Asare, Kelvin Osei Asibey, Hamzah Issah, and several other regular starters.
Looking ahead, the Phobians will face Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars, who recently triumphed over Asante Kotoko 2-1, on Friday, while Heart of Lions are preparing to take on Asante Kotoko.
