Mahama Takes Action to Restore Peace in Sawla-Bole Dispute, Consults Yagbonwura

President John Mahama has taken action to restore tranquility in the Sawla-Bole region of the Savannah Area due to escalating tensions between the Gonja and Brifor communities.
Upon his return from an official visit to Singapore, the President was fully briefed by the National Security Coordinator and the Minister for the Interior regarding the latest updates on the conflict.
While overseas, Mr. Mahama engaged in a phone call with the King of Gonja, Yagbonwura Jira Bikunuto Jewu Soale I, where they deliberated on strategies to cease the hostilities and promote enduring peace in the region.
In an effort to ease tensions, the President has sent a government delegation headed by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohamed-Mubarak, to meet with the Yagbonwura and other significant stakeholders.
At the same time, security measures have been strengthened with the addition of more police and military forces in the area of conflict.
President Mahama has called on all involved parties to back the peace initiatives currently being implemented, emphasizing the crucial role of dialogue in settling ongoing disputes.
Additionally, he has instructed the government delegation to collaborate closely with the Regional Security Council, traditional leaders, and community heads to restore peace and maintain law and order.
