NPP taps Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo for Tourism, Creative Arts Committee ahead of 2028 elections as Spokesperson

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has been appointed a spokesperson for the NPP’s Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts Committee ahead of the 2028 elections.

The committee, one of several policy and strategy groups set up by the party, is tasked with developing the NPP’s policy framework for the tourism and creative sectors. Its mandate includes engaging practitioners, reviewing past sector interventions, and proposing new initiatives to position culture and tourism as drivers of jobs and growth.

Asamoah-Baidoo’s appointment signals the party’s push to strengthen ties with the creative industry as it begins early groundwork for 2028.

Background:

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo

Who he is:

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo is a Ghanaian entertainment journalist, critic, media consultant, aviation safety inspector, and actor. He’s one of Ghana’s most visible entertainment pundits, known for “bold, unbiased critiques on celebrity culture, music, film, and industry trends”.

Career in media & entertainment:

  • Journalism/Editorial work – Over 15 years in entertainment journalism. He’s worked for P&P, Weekly Fylla, and Razz newspapers, serving as Editor-in-Chief of Razz. He’s also editor of Entertainmentgh.com and CEO of Arn-Berrie Group, which handles PR, transport services, and merchandising.

  • Radio/TV punditry – Started on 205 Total Entertainment on Channel R with DJ Abio. Became a regular on Kwasi Aboagye’s Entertainment Review on Peace FM. Currently a panel member on UTV’s United Showbiz with Nana Ama McBrown, A Plus, and BullGod. Also appears on GHOne TV, The Delay Show, Happy FM, Onua FM, Hitz FM, Adom FM, and others.

  • PR & industry roles – Former PRO of Miss Ghana beauty pageant. Handled communications for Zylofon Music and NAM Mission when he joined Zylofon Media with Halifax Ansah Addo. Served as PRO for RTP Awards and Board Member for People’s Celebrity Awards, Ghana Events Awards, and 3Music Awards.
  • Acting – Has appeared in multiple Ghanaian films and TV series since 2008.

Aviation career:

Works as an Aviation Safety Inspector at the Personnel Licensing Office, Safety Regulation Department of Ghana Civil Aviation Authority. His job includes issuing licenses to pilots, cabin crew, and aircraft engineers. He said in 2021 that he earned more than GH¢10,000 in aviation.
