Isaac Andy Abrokwah has been elected as the New Patriotic Party’s Communication Officer for Asante Akim North Constituency after a decisive win in the party’s 2026 constituency executive elections held at Agogo State SHS.

According to the official Statement of Poll and Declaration of Results, Mr. Abrokwah secured 563 votes to defeat his contender, Frederick Nkansah, who polled 368 votes. The result means Abrokwah will lead the party’s communication efforts in the constituency ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The elections were conducted on Saturday among 966 registered delegates in the constituency. Out of 1,000 ballot papers issued to the center, 932 total votes were cast. The ballot accounting showed no spoiled ballots, while one ballot was rejected after counting.

With 931 total valid votes recorded, Abrokwah won with a clear margin of 195 votes, representing about 60.5% of the valid votes cast. His victory was endorsed and marked “ELECTED” on the results sheet signed by the Presiding Officer, Francis Ohene Komfa, at 6:12 pm on July 11, 2026.

Agents for both candidates were present to witness the counting and declaration. Daniel Nii Armah signed as agent for Isaac Andy Abrokwah, while Obeng Solomon represented Frederick Nkansah.

The Asante Akim North election forms part of the NPP’s nationwide constituency executive elections aimed at reconstituting party structures at the grassroots level. The party has described the exercise as crucial to strengthening its base and preparing for the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Party supporters in Agogo hailed the process as peaceful and transparent. The turnout of 932 out of 966 registered delegates represented a 96.5% participation rate, reflecting strong interest in the internal contest.

The Communication Officer position is seen as a key role in shaping the NPP’s message in Asante Akim North, a seat the party has held for several election cycles. With the new executives now in place, attention will shift to how the team works to mobilize the base, manage messaging, and retain the seat in 2028.

The NPP is expected to continue with regional and national executive elections in the coming months as part of its reorganization.

Party leadership, including Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has already congratulated newly elected executives across the country and urged them to unite and work toward victory in 2028.

In Asante Akim North, the focus now turns to Isaac Andy Abrokwah and his team to deliver on communication and organizational duties for the elephant party in the heart of Ashanti.
