Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang reviews changing of the guard as Navy hands over to Air Force at presidency
Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang today reviewed the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Presidency, where the Ghana Navy officially handed over guard duties to the Ghana Air Force.
The colourful and highly disciplined ceremony, held at the Jubilee House, forms part of the periodic rotation of guard duties among the three services of the Ghana Armed Forces — Army, Navy and Air Force — at the seat of government.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who is also the Chairperson of the Armed Forces Council, inspected the parade mounted by the outgoing Ghana Navy and the incoming Ghana Air Force detachment, and commended the troops for their professionalism, precision and turnout.
The ceremony featured slow and quick marches, drills, and the symbolic handing over of responsibilities, showcasing the high level of discipline and inter-service cooperation within the Ghana Armed Forces.
Present were the Interior Minister, senior officers of the Ghana Armed Forces, officials from the Presidency, and other dignitaries.
The Changing of the Guard at the Presidency remains a key tradition that underscores the loyalty of the Armed Forces to the state and the Commander-in-Chief.
