Bawumia Tops NPP Presidential Race with 52%, Ken Agyapong Follows at 17% – Poll Results
Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the leading candidate to guide the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, as indicated by a recent poll from Global Info Analytics released on August 21, 2025.
The survey reveals that Dr. Bawumia enjoys 52% support among NPP delegates in advance of the party’s presidential primaries.
Trailing behind him is former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, who has garnered only 17% of the support.
Other contenders in the race have received even lower backing, with Dr. Bryan Acheampong at 3%, and former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum at 1%. Additionally, former General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Addai Nimo each received less than 1%.

In the meantime, 10% of delegates remain undecided, while 9% chose not to reveal their preferences.
The poll was conducted among 2,656 NPP delegates, with 2,560 completing the survey. Interviews took place from August 12 to 20, 2025, across 263 of the 276 constituencies using computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI). The survey boasts a confidence level of 99% and a margin of error of ±2.44%.
The findings indicate that while Dr. Bawumia has a significant lead, he must still work to sway undecided delegates as the primaries approach.
