The Ghana Education Service (GES) has terminated the employment of Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, following the emergence of a viral video depicting him in an inappropriate scenario with a female student.

In a statement released on Monday, September 29, GES acknowledged that it had been made aware of the video that has been circulating on social media.

The service emphasized that it regards this issue with the “utmost seriousness” and has promptly taken action in accordance with its dedication to ensuring the safety of students.

“Mr Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement, signed by GES Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, said.

GES assured parents, stakeholders and the public that due process would be followed.

“The appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the code of conduct of the Ghana Education Service,” it added.

The service also said it’s dedicated to protecting the safety and well-being of students across the country.

“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the statement said.
