Beverly Afaglo to Be Laid to Rest August 7 at Lashibi Funeral Home
Ghana’s screens will say a final goodbye to Beverly Afaglo on Friday, August 7, 2026. Her family confirmed the date and venue as Lashibi Funeral Home in Greater Accra, during a one-week memorial that brought Tema to a standstill.

The memorial was held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Green Flavour Events Centre, Community 9, Tema. The hall overflowed with family, co-stars, directors, and fans who came to celebrate a woman who gave Ghanaian cinema over two decades of her talent. White balloons drifted into the Tema sky at the end, turning grief into a quiet, collective tribute.

Beverly passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after fighting cancer for two years. She was one of those actresses who showed up and owned every scene. From Return of Beyonce in 2006 and Crime to Christ in 2007, to Girls Connection 2008, she helped define a generation of Ghanaian film. She kept delivering through the 2010s with Never Again, Turn Me On, The Game, Single Six, Equatorial Escape, Secret Burden, and later titles like The King’s Bride, Total Exchange, Playboy, Big Girls Club, CEO, and About to Wed.
Since news of her death broke, tributes have flooded in. Colleagues remember her discipline on set. Fans remember the characters that felt like family. August 7 will be the last curtain call, but her work will keep running.
