Mahama nominates Zanetor, Ayariga and reshuffles Defence, Works & Housing Ministries

President John Dramani Mahama has announced new ministerial nominations and a cabinet reshuffle, submitting two names to Parliament for approval and reassigning two current Ministers of State.

In a statement released by the Presidency on Friday, the President, acting under Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution, forwarded the names of Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, MP, and Mahama Ayariga, MP, to Parliament through the Speaker for prior approval as Ministers of State.

NEW NOMINATIONS:

  • Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology – Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, MP
  • Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs – Mahama Ayariga, MP

MINISTERIAL REASSIGNMENTS:

The President also reassigned two portfolios with immediate effect:

  • Ministry of Defence – Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei
  • Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources – Ahmed Ibrahim, MP

The statement was signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.

The nominations are subject to approval by Parliament before the nominees can assume office.
