NPP clears all 47 aspirants for National Officers Elections; Balloting slated for Sept 9
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has completed the vetting of aspirants for its 2026 National Officers Elections.
This was contained in a press statement dated 5th September 2026, issued by the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) and signed by its Chairman, Frederick Opare-Ansah.
According to the statement, the National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) conducted the vetting from 31st August to 3rd September 2026, per the timetable published by NOEC. A total of 47 aspirants contesting across nine categories appeared before the Committee.
After examination of documents, interaction with aspirants and consideration of eligibility requirements, the Vetting Committee submitted its report to NOEC and recommended that all aspirants are suitable and eligible.
“Accordingly, all 47 aspirants have been CLEARED TO CONTEST, subject to the processes provided under the applicable rules governing the elections,” the statement said.

- National Vice-Chairperson – 13
- General Secretary – 4
- National Treasurer – 4
- National Organiser – 8
- National Youth Organiser – 6
- National Women’s Organiser – 2
- National Nasara (Zongo) Organiser – 5
- National Communications Director – 1

Balloting
NOEC announced that balloting for positions on the ballot paper will take place on Wednesday, 9th September 2026, at the NPP Headquarters, Asylum Down, Accra.
Specific times for the respective positions will be communicated directly to the aspirants, who are expected to participate either in person or through their duly authorised representatives.
NOEC urged all aspirants and their representatives to cooperate fully to ensure an orderly and transparent balloting process.
Appreciation
The Committee expressed profound appreciation to the Chairperson and members of the Vetting Committee for their diligence, professionalism and commitment.
It also commended all 47 aspirants for their cooperation and conduct, and thanked Party members, officials, supporters, the media and the general public for their continued cooperation and interest in the electoral process.
