Ministry of Education warns against fake CSSPS Placement Slips circulating on Social Media
The Ministry of Education has warned the public against fake and manipulated Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement results being circulated on social media.
In a press statement dated 9th September 2026 and signed by Press Secretary Hashmin Mohammed, the Ministry said its attention has been drawn to attempts by unscrupulous individuals to manipulate and digitally alter CSSPS placement slips and circulate them online, falsely claiming that the Ministry has changed their original placement results.
According to the Ministry, the claims are false and misleading.
The statement said that, following preliminary internal verification, the Ministry established that some of the placement slips being circulated do not correspond with records generated from the official CSSPS platform.
“In particular, the barcodes and QR codes on the purported placement slips do not match the placement information presented on the documents being circulated as evidence of alleged changes,” the statement noted.
It added that the Ministry’s system and audit logs do not support the claims being made by the individuals circulating the materials, and that evidence available indicates the documents have been digitally manipulated.
The Ministry described the act as a serious attempt to undermine public confidence in the CSSPS placement process and create unnecessary confusion and anxiety among students, parents and guardians.
The Ministry has consequently referred the matter to the Cyber Security Authority and other relevant security agencies for further investigation and appropriate action.
It urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from sharing unverified placement slips or claims on social media, and advised parents, guardians and students to rely only on placement information obtained through the official CSSPS channels.
The Ministry assured that it remains committed to ensuring that the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise is conducted with transparency, fairness, integrity and accountability, and that any legitimate concerns regarding placement will be duly investigated through the appropriate channels.
