Sammi Awuku supports over 200 farmers in Akuapem North with farm inputs
Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Samuel Awuku, has distributed farm inputs to over 200 farmers in the Lower Hill areas of the constituency as part of efforts to boost agricultural productivity and support local livelihoods.
The items distributed this morning included bags of fertilizer, rain boots, and other essential farming materials aimed at easing the burden on farmers and improving yields for the season.
Speaking during the brief distribution exercise, Mr. Awuku described farmers as the backbone of the local economy, stressing that investment in agriculture is an investment in the growth of the entire community.
“Another step towards empowering the backbone of our local economy. This morning, over 200 farmers in the Lower Hill areas received fertilizers, rain boots, amongst other items to support their work and boost productivity,” he said.
“We are investing in our farmers because when agriculture grows, our communities grow. Grateful to all our farmers who continue to feed us with the best of naturally homegrown farm produce,” he added.
The beneficiary farmers expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the high cost of inputs has been a major challenge. They said the timely intervention will help them expand their farms and increase production.
Mr. Awuku has in recent months rolled out several interventions in education, health and agriculture as part of his constituency empowerment agenda.
The farmers are drawn from communities within the Lower Hill enclave, which is noted as a major farming hub for food crops in Akuapem North.
