Veteran actor Pete Edochie pays a courtesy call on GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi

Veteran Nigerian actor and African screen legend, Pete Edochie, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, during his visit to Ghana.

The visit forms part of activities to launch the African Legacy Project, an initiative by the legendary actor which includes a book, a documentary film and an African Youth Mentorship Initiative aimed at reaching about 500,000 young people across Africa.

Mr. Sammy Gyamfi welcomed the legendary actor and described the African Legacy Project as a timely and impactful initiative for youth development on the continent.

He expressed GoldBod’s openness to supporting the youth mentorship initiative, noting that it aligns with the Board’s Special Intervention Programme and its focus on social impact and economic empowerment.

He also noted that GoldBod’s work is referenced in Pete Edochie’s new book, which highlights Ghana’s efforts to ensure its gold resources contribute meaningfully to national development.

The meeting underscored the growing convergence between creative legacy and national development efforts in harnessing Africa’s natural and human resources for sustainable growth.
