The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Hon. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has presented the final batch of scholarships under his scholarship scheme, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to over 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The presentation ceremony, held in Kumasi, was attended by the Kumasi Metro Director of Education, beneficiary students, parents and guardians.

Speaking at the event, the MP said the initiative was born out of his personal understanding of the challenges many Ghanaian families face in financing education.

“I know what it means to struggle to pay school fees. I know how painful it can be when a student’s dreams are threatened simply because of financial difficulties. That is why this initiative means so much to me,” Hon. Baffour Awuah stated.

He emphasized that the scholarship scheme is aimed at ensuring that no promising student in Manhyia South has to abandon their academic ambitions due to lack of funds.

“I was pleased to have the Kumasi Metro Education Director, students, parents and guardians join us for the occasion. No promising student should have to give up on their dreams because they cannot afford school fees,” he added.

Parents and beneficiaries who spoke at the ceremony expressed profound gratitude to the MP, describing the intervention as timely and life-changing amid rising cost of education.

The Manhyia South Scholarship Scheme covers both undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing various courses in public tertiary institutions across the country.

Hon. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah pledged to sustain and expand the scheme in the coming years to reach more needy but brilliant students in the constituency.
