NPP directs members to join Nationwide General Cleaning Exercise on July 10 and 11

Accra, Ghana – July 9, 2026
The leadership of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, has directed all party members to actively participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise declared by the President, scheduled for Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026.
In a statement released from the party’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP said the exercise is part of efforts to promote environmental sanitation, civic responsibility, and national development.
“The leadership of the New Patriotic Party directs all members of the party to actively participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise declared by the President,” the statement said.
The party noted that the two-day exercise coincides with an important internal party activity. The NPP is set to hold its Constituency Elections on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Because voting in the elections will be conducted on a walk-in basis, the party is encouraging members to take part in the cleaning exercise immediately after casting their ballots.
“In view of the party’s Constituency Elections on Saturday, July 11, 2026, members are encouraged to participate in the cleaning exercise immediately after casting their ballots, as voting is conducted on a walk-in basis,” Mr. Frimpong stated.
The General Secretary urged all members, from constituency executives to grassroots supporters, to demonstrate commitment to the party’s values and to the broader national interest by turning out in their numbers for the exercise. “The Party calls on all members to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to environmental sanitation, civic responsibility, and national development through their active participation,” the statement added.
The nationwide cleaning exercise is expected to draw participation from government institutions, civil society organizations, faith-based groups, and political parties nationwide. It forms part of renewed efforts by the government to address sanitation challenges and promote cleaner communities.
The NPP, with the motto “Development in Freedom,” said it remains committed to supporting national initiatives that improve the quality of life of Ghanaians. Party executives at the regional and constituency levels have been tasked to coordinate members and ensure effective mobilization for both the cleaning exercise and the constituency elections.
The statement concluded by calling on all NPP members to treat the directive with urgency and to use the opportunity to engage communities while promoting the party’s development agenda.
