Nurse sues Ralph for GHS 7 Million for bodily injuries and defamation
A nurse involved in a viral video depicting relatives of a patient physically assaulting medical personnel at the emergency department of Ridge Hospital has filed a lawsuit against one Ralph Saint Williams for 7 million Ghana Cedis, citing bodily injuries and defamation.
Rejoice Tsotsoo Bortei is seeking damages amounting to Five Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 5,000,000.00) for the battery inflicted by the Defendant on August 17, 2025, which resulted in physical injuries to the Plaintiff.

Additionally, she is claiming Two Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 2,000,000.00) for defamatory statements made by the Defendant regarding the Plaintiff, specifically stating, “Liar, Wo se wo nsam abu. Duab0 beban. You say you have suffered an injured hand and a dislocated shoulder. This is cooked up to cover the nonsense going on at the hospital.”
The lawsuit also requests an order for the Defendant to issue a full, unqualified apology and retraction of the defamatory statements in the same medium and with equal prominence as the original publication.

Furthermore, a perpetual injunction is sought to prevent the Defendant from publishing any additional defamatory content concerning the Plaintiff.
The Plaintiff is also requesting a perpetual injunction to keep the Defendant at least 50 meters away from her.
Costs, including legal fees, are also being sought, along with any other relief that this Honourable Court may find appropriate.
