Police reschedule full implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH to November 1
The Ghana Police Service, through the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), has rescheduled the full implementation of the automated traffic law enforcement programme, TRAFFITECH-GH, from October 1 to November 1, 2026.
In a press release signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah, Staff Officer, Public Affairs, for the Director-General/Public Affairs, the Service said the rescheduling is to allow for more extensive public awareness and education on the programme.
This includes its operations, the traffic offences to be detected, and the Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV) to be issued to offending motorists.
According to the Police, TRAFFITECH-GH forms part of efforts by the Service to address indiscipline on Ghana’s roads and improve compliance with road traffic laws and regulations.
“The Ghana Police Service, therefore, urges motorists, drivers and vehicle owners to take advantage of the additional period to familiarise themselves with the programme ahead of the rollout,” the statement said.
The Service expressed gratitude to the media for their unflinching support throughout the introduction of the project, and reiterated its commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH for improved road safety.
