Senior Nursing Officer Salomey Awiti Baffoe is finally back home with her family after spending three weeks in custody.

Her return follows the decision of the Adenta Circuit Court on Monday, October 5, 2026, to grant her bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties. Both sureties must be civil servants earning not less than GH¢3,000 per month. She is also to report to the Hansua Police Station in Techiman, Bono East Region, every two weeks.

The 40-year-old mother of three was arrested on September 13, 2026, at her residence at Hansua near Techiman over allegations that she was an accomplice to TikToker Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known as Ghana Jollof.

Police allege she helped to produce and circulate content linked to the Ghana Jollof TikTok account. She has been charged with abetment of crime, to wit, publication of false news, and has pleaded not guilty. She remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Her detention had sparked public concern, with her family appealing to the government and the public for support. According to the family, her absence took a heavy toll on her three children, who kept asking for their mother.

The bail application was not opposed by the State. Her lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, MP for Manhyia South, had argued that there was no basis for her continued detention.

The case has been adjourned to February 17, 2027.

In Techiman, her family home was filled with joy, dancing and tears of relief as they celebrated her return.

“We are very happy. We have been waiting for the past three weeks because we know she hasn’t done anything bad,” a family member said.
