The father of late Berekum Chelsea midfielder Dominic Frimpong, Mr. Nana Frimpong, has disputed official reports surrounding his son’s death, alleging that the player was not shot but was killed under mysterious circumstances.

Speaking in an emotional interview with Fakye TV, Mr. Frimpong said there were no signs or evidence of gunshot wounds on his son’s body when he saw it.

“My son was not shot; I believe he was killed. There were no signs or evidence of gunshot wounds on his body,” he stated.

In a more damning allegation, the grieving father accused his son’s former club, Berekum Chelsea, of using the late player as a ritual sacrifice in their fight to avoid relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

“I believe Berekum Chelsea used my son as a sacrifice in their fight to avoid relegation. Even if they offer you GH₵30 billion, don’t allow your son to go and play for Berekum Chelsea. They will kill him,” he warned.

Dominic Frimpong’s death was earlier reported as a shooting incident, a report his family is now strongly contesting.

As of the time of filing this report, Berekum Chelsea FC is yet to officially respond to the allegations made by the father of their late player.

The family is calling for a thorough and independent investigation into the true cause of death.
