Arsenal respond instantly

Arsenal responded almost immediately.

Just 107 seconds later, Kai Havertz capitalised on hesitation from City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose attempted clearance ricocheted into his own net via the German forward.

The quick-fire equaliser underlined Arsenal’s resilience and set the tone for a fiercely contested match.

Both sides created chances in an open and intense contest.

Haaland struck the post early in the second half, while Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze also came close with an effort that rattled the woodwork.

Donnarumma redeemed himself with a crucial save to deny Havertz, keeping City level during a dangerous spell for the visitors.

Haaland delivers decisive moment

The breakthrough arrived in the 65th minute.

Haaland reacted quickest inside the box, finishing from close range in trademark fashion to restore City’s lead and ultimately decide the contest.

Arsenal pushed for another equaliser, with Gabriel seeing a header deflected onto the post, but City held firm under pressure.

The result marks another significant step for Pep Guardiola’s side, who have now beaten Arsenal twice in the space of a month following their Carabao Cup final victory.

With momentum building and the gap narrowing, City are once again applying intense pressure at the top of the table.

Title race finely poised

For Arsenal, the defeat represents a setback but not the end of their title ambitions.

With key players like Martin Ødegaard returning to the starting lineup, the Gunners remain firmly in contention as the season enters its decisive phase.

However, City’s relentless pursuit has set up a dramatic conclusion, with every remaining fixture now carrying enormous significance in the battle for the Premier League crown.
