I’ll expose top Gov’t Officials Involved in galamsey soon – Miracles Aboagye
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, an aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has indicated intentions to reveal purported high-level involvement in illegal mining, commonly referred to as galamsey, in the near future.
During an appearance on Breakfast Daily on Wednesday, April 29, Miracles Aboagye stated that individuals closely associated with the current government are actively participating in this unlawful trade, raising new concerns regarding political complicity within the sector.
He emphasized that his assertions are based on direct observations, characterizing what he termed widespread impunity in the galamsey industry. He noted that the extent of the activities and the evident lack of enforcement highlight a more profound systemic failure.

He cautioned that the environmental repercussions are becoming increasingly severe, pointing to the devastation of river bodies nationwide. Some rivers, he remarked, have either ceased to flow or have been significantly contaminated, threatening both livelihoods and water security.
The NPP spokesperson further accused the government of placing financial interests from illegal mining above the long-term welfare of the nation, a statement that is expected to escalate political discourse surrounding the battle against galamsey.
“I will, in the next few days, mention senior members, very top, top officials, who are close to this government and are actively operating in the galamsey space in this country. Our river bodies are dying; some are no longer flowing, and others have virtually come to a standstill, simply because of this government’s actions,” he said
Miracles Aboagye also raised questions about the management of excavators brought into the country, alleging that officials have not taken decisive measures. He refuted claims that the machines are being monitored, asserting instead that they have been returned to operators without adequate accountability.
