MTN Ghana has announced that it will apply a fee on transfers from Mobile Money wallets to bank accounts, effective June 1, 2026.

In a notice sent to customers on Monday, May 25, 2026, the telecom company said MoMo users would be charged 0.75% per transaction for transfers from their wallets to bank accounts.

According to the notice, the fee will be capped at GH¢5 per transaction, regardless of the amount sent.

MTN Ghana stated that the adjustment is intended to support service improvements for customers. “This will help us continue to serve you better,” the message said.

The change is expected to affect customers who regularly move funds from Mobile Money wallets directly into bank accounts.

Mobile Money remains one of Ghana’s most widely used digital payment platforms, with millions of users relying on it for daily transactions, savings, and business payments.
