1. Raw rubber exports ban shoots up purchases

Summary: Local use of raw rubber produced in Ghana has almost quadrupled since the export ban took effect in July. Local rubber processors bought 2,028 tonnes in May 2026, up from 534 tonnes in April. Last month hit a record 3,131 tonnes. The Rubber Processors Association of Ghana (RUPAG) has also rejected proposals for an export quota, saying local processing capacity can now handle all locally produced rubber.
