Summary: MTN Ghana’s MoMo float reached GH¢38.4bn ($2.4bn) in 2025. If counted like bank deposits, this would make MTN the 2nd largest deposit holder in Ghana, behind only GCB Bank’s GH¢41.05bn and ahead of Ecobank, Stanbic and Zenith. The float is held in trust in partner banks and supervised by the Bank of Ghana. It is not legally classified as a bank deposit and is already counted on banks’ books.
