Police arrest two brothers over Tuba murder and shooting
The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old man and the shooting of his wife at Tuba, near Weija.
According to a press release issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit on Saturday, the suspects, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother Bala Bilyon, were arrested with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET).
The incident occurred on 6th August 2026 at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, where Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife Christiana Fosu, 53, were found outside their four-bedroom apartment with gunshot wounds.
Police said a team from the Weija Police Division responded to the scene and rushed the victims to Finney Hospital, Weija. Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival, while his wife was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where she is currently on admission and responding to treatment. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
During interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted to shooting Rahman and his wife. He told police he was motivated by the perception that the deceased had repeatedly described him as “lazy and useless”, which he said affected him mentally.
The suspect subsequently led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved. Police said the weapon had allegedly been concealed beneath the wall of the room shared by the two brothers.
Adams Adder Almeida further told investigators that the pistol was given to him by a friend, Gideon. A team dispatched to Gideon’s residence at Tuba did not find him at home, and efforts are ongoing to locate him to assist with investigations.
Bala Bilyon has also been arrested for interrogation.
The Ghana Police Service says investigations are ongoing.
