Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has revisited the St. Jude’s Catholic Church at New Weija, a church he helped to build in fulfilment of a promise to his friend and resident priest, Rev. Father Andrew Campbell.

In a post on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia said the visit was an honour.

“Earlier today, I had the honour of visiting St. Jude’s Catholic Church at New Weija, a church I was privileged, by God’s grace, to help build in fulfilment of a promise to my good friend and resident priest, Father Andrew Campbell. Seeing the beautiful edifice today was deeply moving. To God be the glory,” he wrote.

Dr. Bawumia has, over the years, supported the church project. According to Rev. Father Campbell, Dr. Bawumia contributed about GH¢1.7 million towards the completion of the church after he visited the unfinished structure and asked for the cost of completion. ee3f

The former Vice President also recently donated GH¢50,000 to support the operations of the church and commissioned an eight-seater washroom facility he helped build at the church.
