“Ghana Jollof” Case: Salomey Awiti Baffoe granted GH¢100,000 bail

Accra, October 5, 2026
The Adenta Circuit Court 1 in Accra has granted bail to Salomey Awiti Baffoe, the 40-year-old Senior Nursing Officer at the centre of the “Ghana Jollof” case, in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties.
The court ordered that the two sureties must be civil servants earning salaries of not less than GH¢3,000.
Ms. Baffoe, based in Techiman, is facing a charge of abetment of crime, to wit, publication of false news, contrary to sections 20(1) and 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). She has pleaded not guilty.
She is alleged by the prosecution to have acted as a liaison for Barbara Asantewaa Koduah, popularly known as “Ghana Jollof,” who is believed to be behind the controversial TikTok/social media account, and to have assisted in the dissemination and recruitment of persons to redistribute videos produced by her.
The bail comes after the court had on September 24, 2026, dismissed her initial bail application, citing ongoing cyber-related investigations and the risk of interference with evidence and witnesses. The case was subsequently adjourned to October 5, 2026.
Police have declared Ms. Koduah wanted and launched a manhunt for her. She is reportedly outside Ghana, in the United Kingdom.
The case has been adjourned for the continuation of investigations and the hearing.
