Government will continue to invest in teacher training and welfare. The government has set October 16, 2026, as the date to start paying outstanding arrears owed to teachers. The assurance was given by Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu. This is to clear the backlog and improve teacher motivation.

2. GRA probes alleged GH¢600 extortion at KIA

The Ghana Revenue Authority is investigating reports of alleged extortion of GH¢600 from passengers at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by some officials.

3. We Are Not Squatters – La Pleasure Beach

Operators and workers at La Pleasure Beach (Laboma) have refuted claims that they are squatters on the beachfront, insisting they have legitimate rights to operate there.

4. 7 Arrested Over Money Bouquets

Police have arrested 7 suspects in connection with money bouquets — flower bouquets made with real currency notes. Photo shows some of the suspects holding the bouquets.

5. 3 Siblings Found Dead In Vehicle

Three siblings have been found dead inside a parked vehicle in a bushy area. Police have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding their death.
