NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua has expressed profound gratitude to God following the party’s three-day National Thanksgiving Service held from Kintampo through Goaso to Sunyani.

In a statement titled “IN GRATITUDE TO GOD, WE FIND STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD”, JFK described the services as a profound expression of faith, humility, unity and unwavering commitment to the NPP.

“It was deeply humbling as National Executives led by Chairman John Boadu joined our Flagbearer and Leader, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and hundreds of devoted party faithful in offering thanks to the Almighty God for His grace and guidance,” he wrote.

The thanksgiving tour began on Friday, October 17, 2026, with National Muslim Thanksgiving Prayers at the Kintampo Central Mosque in the Bono East Region during Jummah prayers. The party thanked Almighty Allah for a peaceful National Delegates Conference and the successful election of new national executives in Kumasi.

The second leg was held on Saturday at the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Goaso in the Ahafo Region, where the party worshipped with the SDA community who observe Saturday as their Sabbath. JFK said the service was to thank God for the peaceful conduct of internal elections and to seek divine direction towards 2028.

The three-day exercise climaxed on Sunday, October 18, at the Sunyani Central Church of Pentecost – F.D. Walker Memorial Temple. Dr. Bawumia, accompanied by the newly elected national executives including John Boadu, Justin Kodua, Hawa Koomson, Dennis Miracles Aboagye and others, joined hundreds of faithful to give thanks.

Speaking at the Sunyani service, Dr. Bawumia called for peace and unity across religious, ethnic and tribal lines and said the party had learnt lessons from the 2024 defeat and was reorganising for 2028.

JFK concluded: “As we conclude these three days of thanksgiving, we reflect with gratitude on how far God has brought us, mindful of the challenges that lie ahead. May the spirit of gratitude that united us throughout these three days continue to guide our actions and strengthen our collective purpose.”
