Bawumia engages TUC Leadership on cost of living, jobs and living wage

Former Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says his stakeholder consultations brought him to the TUC Hall today for an insightful meeting with the leadership of the Trades Union Congress (TUC).

In a statement after the meeting, Dr. Bawumia said discussions focused on issues that matter most to the Ghanaian worker, including the cost of living and delivering a living wage, expanding youth jobs, enhancing pensions, and ensuring disability inclusion.

He said the meeting also explored a vital social contract between government and labour to build economic resilience against external shocks.
According to him, both sides agreed to follow up on specifics in subsequent meetings.

“I am deeply grateful to the TUC leadership and constituent groups for an open dialogue that allows us to tap into their wealth of experience as we build a better future together,” Dr. Bawumia said.
