Black Sherif wins Artiste of the Year: TGMA 27 Full List of Winners

The 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has once again celebrated the pinnacle of Ghanaian musical talent, with industry heavyweights and rising stars taking home prestigious honors. The night saw significant victories for Black Sherif, Kofi Kinaata, and several other iconic performers.
In a monumental sweep, Black Sherif solidified his status as a continental superstar by clinching five of the most coveted awards of the evening. The “Oil in my Head” hitmaker took home:
- Artiste of the Year
- Album of the Year (for Iron Boy)
- Afropop Song of the Year (for his hit single Sacrifice)
- Song Writer of the Year (for his hit single Sacrifice)
- Hiphop Song of the Year (Where Dem Boys)

His dominant performance underscores his massive influence on the contemporary Ghanaian music scene and his successful crossover into global markets.
The “Effiakuma Valentine” crooner, Kofi Kinaata, proved once again why he is the undisputed king of modern Highlife. Kinaata secured a double win, taking home:
- Highlife Artiste of the Year
- Highlife Song of the Year (for the track It’s Finished)

The awards also recognized excellence across various genres and performances:
- Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year: The “Queen of Ghana Music,” Wendy Shay, walked away with this honor, marking another successful year in her career.
- Gospel Artiste of the Year: The legendary Diana Hamilton continues her reign in the gospel sector, bagging the top spot for her contribution to the ministry and music industry.
- Female Vocal Performance of the Year: Enam was honored for her exceptional vocal prowess and unique artistry.

- Best Rap Performance of the Year: Strongman secured this win for his standout delivery on the track “Mensei Da”.

The Reggae and Dancehall categories saw a mix of established legends and rising stars taking home the gold.
- Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year: Global icon Stonebwoy continues his reign, proving once again why he is a powerhouse in the genre.
- Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year: Moliy captured the hearts of fans and judges alike with her infectious hit “Shake It To The Max”.

Gospel music remains a cornerstone of the Ghanaian soundscape, with two distinct categories honoring the best in traditional and modern sounds.
- Traditional Gospel Song of the Year: Piesie Esther triumphed with her powerful anthem “Nyame Ye”.
- Urban Gospel of the Year: Kofi Owusu Peprah took home the award for the vibrant and contemporary “Big God Afro”.
The Unsung Artiste of the Year category, which highlights emerging talent ready for the mainstream, was awarded to Morgan Nero. This win often serves as a launchpad for the next generation of Ghanaian superstars.
