High Court defers Wontumi’s Samreboi case to July 20, Atta Akyea to file by July 13

ACCRA, Ghana
A High Court in Accra has deferred the hearing of the Samreboi case involving NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, to July 20, 2026.
The court also gave lead counsel for the accused, Samuel Atta Akyea, until July 13 to file any address in the matter.
Court Proceedings and New Date
The case, which relates to issues in Samreboi, was called before the High Court on Monday. After submissions from both sides, the presiding judge adjourned proceedings.

The deferment means both the prosecution and defence will return later in July for the matter to continue.
