Government pays GH¢10.8BN DDEP coupon in full and in cash

The Government of Ghana has paid GH¢10,816,840,318.26 to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).
This was contained in a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
According to the Ministry, the payment is the third DDEP coupon payment to be made fully in cash, and it was paid in full and on schedule.
The release stated that with the latest payment, the total amount paid to bondholders since 2025 now stands at GH¢41.36 billion.
The Ministry said the timely payment demonstrates the Government’s fiscal discipline and firm commitment to meeting all its debt obligations.
It added that the move will strengthen investor confidence, reduce sovereign default risk and reinforce Ghana’s financial credibility.
Government has assured bondholders, investors and the general public that all future DDEP obligations will also be paid in full and on schedule.
