NACOC arrests 3 suspects linked to ‘Bolle Jos’ drug network
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested three suspects for allegedly representing and facilitating the activities of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos,” in Ghana.
The arrests were announced in a press release dated September 14, 2026, signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs and International Relations, PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah.
According to NACOC, the arrests follow the reported seizure by French customs of a cocaine shipment allegedly linked to a wider international network.
The Commission said the three suspects are currently in NACOC custody, assisting investigators to examine their alleged roles in the trafficking.
“The arrests reaffirm NACOC’s resolve that Ghana will not be a haven, transit point or operational base for international drug-trafficking organisations,” the statement said.
NACOC added that it will continue working with domestic and international law-enforcement partners to disrupt the people, finances and infrastructure sustaining the illicit drug trade, while safeguarding the rights and legal protections of all persons under investigation.
The arrest comes days after the Minority in Parliament demanded a probe into over $1 billion worth of Ghana-linked drug seizures in the last 12 months.
