Morocco remains the highest-ranked African side in the latest CAF/FIFA rankings, holding 7th place, while Mali and South Africa made the biggest gains among the continent’s leading teams, each climbing six places.

Senegal is the next best African team at 18th, followed by Egypt in 25th, down one place. Algeria moved up one spot to 28th, and Côte d’Ivoire rose two places to 29th.

Nigeria recorded the sharpest fall among the teams listed, dropping four places to 30th. DR Congo and Cameroon each gained one place, to 40th and 42nd respectively.

Mali’s six-place rise lifts the team to 47th, with South Africa one place behind in 48th after an identical climb.

Ghana is ranked 70th, the lowest of the teams listed. Movement figures for Morocco, Senegal and Ghana were not available.

The middle of the table is tightly packed, with Egypt, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria separated by just five places, from 25th to 30th. Further movement in this group is likely as results come in.
